This bespoke home golf simulator project demonstrates how careful planning and the right technology choices can overcome challenging room dimensions while still delivering a premium indoor golf experience.
Due to the relatively low ceiling height within the space, using a ceiling-mounted Trackman IO launch monitor would have reduced the available headroom even further. Instead, we selected the Trackman 4 launch monitor, which is floor-mounted and perfectly suited for golf simulator rooms with height restrictions.
The result is a fully immersive, luxury golf simulator room with a modern finish, exceptional performance, and multifunctional entertainment features.
For this build, we installed the Golf Tech Systems Ultra Impact Screen in a 4:3 aspect ratio, providing a large and immersive projection area while maximising the available room dimensions.
Custom black faux leather wall and ceiling panels were fitted throughout the simulator enclosure to create a sleek, high-end appearance while also improving room acoustics and player protection.
To further enhance the atmosphere, LED strip lighting was integrated around the panel framing, delivering a modern ambient glow and premium cinema-style finish.
The flooring layout combined both style and performance using premium Huxley golf surfaces.
Black Huxley putting turf was installed to the front and rear sections of the room, while a green Huxley hitting turf area was positioned centrally to create a clearly defined professional hitting zone.
This combination provides a realistic playing experience while complementing the room’s modern black interior design.
The golf simulator was powered by the industry-leading Trackman 4 launch monitor, chosen specifically for its flexibility in rooms with lower ceilings.
A BENQ BR 4K projector was installed to deliver stunning image clarity and realistic golf course visuals. When paired with the projector’s dedicated golf mode, the simulator provides exceptional colour accuracy, brightness, and detail across the impact screen.
Two 43-inch touchscreens were mounted on the rear wall, allowing the customer to easily navigate simulator software, analyse performance data, and control entertainment functions.
To complete the room’s luxury finish, acoustic wall panelling was installed across the three rear walls of the simulator.
The acoustic panels not only improve sound quality within the room but also contribute to the clean, contemporary interior design aesthetic the client requested.
The simulator room itself is attached to the side of the main house and features patio doors overlooking the Oxfordshire countryside. To control natural light entering the room during simulator use, blackout curtains were installed to ensure optimal projection quality at all times.
In addition to golf simulation, the room was designed as a multifunctional entertainment space.
A fan-cooled PC cabinet was installed on the left-hand side of the room, housing both the simulator PC and a Sky TV box. This allows the customer to use the space for watching live sport, movies, and television when not playing golf.
By integrating entertainment technology alongside the simulator system, the room becomes a versatile leisure space suitable for year-round use.
The brief for this project was to create a modern, luxury golf simulator room with a clean finish and exceptional functionality despite the room’s height limitations.
Through careful product selection, custom installation work, and close collaboration throughout the project, we successfully delivered a premium Trackman golf simulator that exceeded the customer’s expectations.
The finished result is a stylish, high-performance indoor golf simulator perfectly suited to both serious practice and home entertainment.
