This project is a perfect example of how intelligent planning, innovative design, and premium technology can transform a compact space into a luxury home golf simulator.
Our client wanted to convert one side of an old Victorian double garage into a high-end Trackman golf simulator while maintaining a clean, open, and uncluttered appearance throughout the room. Despite the limited space available, the finished result delivers a fully immersive indoor golf and entertainment experience.
The rear section of the building originally housed the garage roller door. Once this was removed and the opening was professionally filled, it created the perfect recessed area for the installation of the Golf Tech Ultra impact screen. This allowed the simulator screen to sit neatly within the structure, maximising available floor space and creating a seamless, premium finish.
To complete the enclosure, we installed bespoke faux leather wall and ceiling panels, giving the simulator a luxury appearance while also improving acoustics and player safety.
For the flooring, we installed our premium green putting turf throughout the simulator room to create a realistic putting surface and cohesive finish. A dedicated Huxley hitting turf section was then integrated into the floor, providing a professional-grade hitting area designed for durability, comfort, and authentic ball response.
The building featured a pitched roof with two exposed beams running across the ceiling. Conveniently, these beams were positioned perfectly for mounting both the Trackman IO launch monitor and the BENQ 4K projector.
Due to the ceiling height and roof pitch, we used custom drop-down mounting solutions to achieve the optimal installation heights for both systems. This ensured precise ball tracking performance and exceptional 4K image quality across the impact screen.
To enhance the user experience, we installed two 27-inch Alogic touchscreens on the right-hand wall. Positioned perfectly between two existing wall lights, the screens provide easy access to simulator software, course selection, and game controls without disrupting the room’s aesthetics.
An IDS camera was also installed for face-on swing analysis, allowing the customer to review and improve their golf swing with detailed video feedback.
Audio is delivered through a Samsung soundbar discreetly positioned behind the impact screen, creating immersive sound without visible clutter.
The client also opted to include the Scolia electronic darts system on the left-hand wall. With autonomous scoring, online gameplay functionality, and multiplayer entertainment options, the Scolia system adds another dimension to the room and is becoming an increasingly popular addition to modern golf simulator installations.
One of the standout features of this project is the exceptionally clean finish. No visible cables or exposed components can be seen within the simulator room.
This was achieved through carefully planned cable management and custom-built routing systems, allowing all wiring to pass discreetly through the wall into the opposite side of the garage. A fan-cooled PC cabinet was installed there to house the simulator computer and supporting hardware safely and quietly.
Although technically challenging, this project demonstrates how even smaller or unusually shaped spaces can be transformed into stunning, professional-grade golf simulator environments.
The finished simulator combines Trackman performance, luxury interior design, hidden technology integration, and multifunctional entertainment features — resulting in a truly unique home golf and leisure space that the customer was delighted with.
